OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A 92-year-old Overland Park-based movie theater chain filed for bankruptcy Friday.
Dickinson Theaters made the announcement in an attempt to reorganize its finances. In the filing, the company reported $2.2 million in assets and more than $7.6 million in debt.
As of 2012, the theater chain has more than 200 screens in 18 locations in seven states.
The company plans to close at least four locations, including its Blue Springs 8 Theater.
