KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - The Sprint Center is alive with the sound of music and just about everything else.
The downtown arena once again is near the top in Pollstar Magazine's 2010 Mid-Year report, according to a news release from the center.
Sprint Center is the nation's third busiest arena and is sixth in worldwide rankings.
"Kansas City continues to set attendance trends as evidenced by the number three ranking among U.S arenas,'' Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City general manager and senior vice president, said today in the the release. "In the 33 months since Sprint Center opened, Kansas City continues to demonstrate that the Heart of America has a diverse and vibrant appetite for live entertainment. AEG shares this distinction with artists, promoters, agents and managers that have made Sprint Center the must-play stop in the Midwest.''
Pollstar Magazine reports the top 10 North American concert tours will or have put on show at the arena this year.
The top show thus far has been the George Strait and Reba McEntire show that attracted 18.045 fans.
The arena opened in October 2007.
It's also played host to packed houses for sporting events, including the Big 12 men's basketball tournament.
