GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. - If you are buying this holiday season for that person who wants every type of tool imaginable, you may want to shop with MoDot.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will have an surplus equipment sale Friday. Everything from riding lawn mowers to road plows and generators will be auctioned off in an effort to make up for state funding cuts to the agency.
"There will be probably close to 15 to 20 sales statewide,” said Joey Hinton, General Services Manager with MoDot.
The auction starts at 9 a.m. Friday at the Grain Valley maintenance facility at 5394 South Barr Road in Grain Valley.
“We are trying to recoup about $44 million. All that money will be redirected to the roads and bridge projects," Hinton said.
