TOPEKA, Kan. - Consumers finally have a quick and easy way to avoid doing business with unscrupulous or "fly-by-night" roofing contractors.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Kansas Attorney General's office announced 17 roofing contractors are the first to be registered and listed online.
The Kansas Roofing Contractor Registration Act requires every roofing contractor to get a registration certificate from the AG’s office before doing business in the state.
The attorney general is reviewing 300 more applications. They expect to issue more certificates in the coming weeks.
To find the list of registered contractors, go to the Kansas Attorney General's website .
