June is the month with the longest daylight hours of the year, which means many people are shopping until 9:30 at night.
But before you beat the heat at the mall, we have a new report on what to buy and what not to buy in June.
Great...and Not-So-Great Shopping
The financial website DealNews.com says June is a great month for some things, but a terrible month to buy some other items.
And it says if you can just wait a few more weeks, you'll find some great buys on electronics.
DealNews says June brings:
-Sales on summer clothing and Victoria Secret's semi-annual summer sale. As in lingerie.
- Tools are marked down just in time for Father's Day gifts. Need a drill? Buy it the week before Father's Day during a sale.
-Late June brings the first big sales on barbecue grills and patio furniture. Hint: Target and Walmart clear out their grill section around the 4th of July to make room for the back to school department. Watch for clearance sales.
-June is a great time to book a Carribbean vacation. It's the start of hurricane season, so prices are now dropping.
What Not to Buy?
-DealNews says hold off on Apple purchases: Updated iPhones, iPads, and Macbooks are coming very soon. When the new ones arrive, prices on older models will be slashed.
-And hold off on laptops until late June or July: Prices will be cut dramatically for back to school. July is a great time to shop for laptops.
That way you don't waste your money.
