The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline continues an upward trend, as AAA reports it went up nearly 1 cent Thursday to $3.869.
The price varies greatly from state to state, with some paying much higher prices and others spending quite a bit less for a gallon.
Here’s a look at the 10 states paying the most for gas as of Thursday morning, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge report:
Hawaii $4.386
California $4.163
Connecticut $4.152
Illinois $4.123
Michigan $4.066
Washington $4.065
Oregon $4.030
Maine $4.026
Alaska $4.010
Rhode Island $3.990
Indiana $3.960
