KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An iconic institution in Kansas City unveiled a new living archive on Thursday.

H&R Block is in the throes of tax season, but took time Thursday to honor the company’s founder – Henry Bloch.

The exhibit highlights the past six decades of tax preparation for the Kansas City company. Organizers are calling it a living archive because they say there will be additions and changes to the exhibit in the future.

“We wanted to honor Henry’s past because he’s also someone who talks often about the future,” CEO Bill Cobb said. “So we spent our time building a living archive, and we have a lot of history still to build here.”

The display is in the lobby of the company’s downtown headquarters. H&R Block was founded in 1955.
