WICHITA, Kan. - One week after the loss of Boeing Defense, the state of Kansas is celebrating the creation of new aviation jobs.
Bombardier Learjet announced an expansion of its Wichita facilities.
The company will add another 450 jobs to its payroll in addition to the 600 jobs they announced last year.
Kansas is putting up $16 million in incentives to help with the $600 million investment.
"It's really a great place,” said Steve Ridolfi. “I don't really want to talk a little bit about the competition but for us this has been a win-win story. We've had tremendous help and support from the state, the county, the city."
The Boeing closure will cost more than 2,100 Kansas jobs.
