WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U. S. Chamber of Commerce National Chamber Foundation is hosting a hiring fair in the nation’s capital Friday for veterans and military spouses. It's the first of a nationwide series of fairs. Some of the events are even Midwest-bound.
This kick off fair in Washington Friday marks the second anniversary of the Hiring Our Heroes Program. More than 100 employers are expected to participate.
There are dozens of similar veteran fairs scheduled throughout the Summer of 2013, but with a fair drive from Kansas City. The closet seems to be Lincoln, Nebraska on April 2. Then another is scheduled in O’Fallon, Illinois on April 19. The only scheduled Kansas date is in Garden City on August 8.
