OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Metro trucking conglomerate YRC said Friday the company plans to sell an office in Akron, Ohio, clearing the way for up to 100 jobs to be relocated to Kansas City, the Kansas City Business Journal first reported on Friday.
The company, based in Overland Park, merged with former competing trucking company Roadway in 2003. One of the assets acquired was an office building in Akron, which the company no longer needs and plans to sell.
A company spokesperson says between 50 and 100 people could be relocated to Overland Park from Akron, though the spokesperson did not know when the jobs would be moved.
