DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. - Lawrence, Kan., Police and Douglas County Deputies responded to reports of a possible body in the Kansas River on Wednesday.
Authorities spoke with a boater who said he discovered the body in the river near the Kansas University Boat House.
According to a news release, the Underwater Search and Recovery Team was called to recover the body and investigators indicate the body is of an adult Caucasian male.
The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Dwight Sexton. Preliminary investigation indicates no foul play was involved in his death.
