OLATHE, Kan. - Police killed an armed man outside a Dollar General in Olathe, Kan., Friday night.
According to Olathe police, officers were looking for a vehicle involved in a car wreck earlier that evening when they went to the nearby Dollar General around 8 p.m. When an officer went inside the store, at 140 S. Clairborne, a man pulled out a gun and started pointing it at him.
The officer then shot the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later identified the gunman as 21-year-old Cody M. Kincheloe, of Olathe, Kan.
Police did find the car involved in the wreck in the Dollar General parking lot. Officers interviewed a woman who was inside the vehicle, but it's unclear what relationship, if any, she had to the gunman.
