KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One man is dead and a woman is injured after an attempted murder-suicide at Kauffman Stadium
The shooting occurred around 3:23 p.m. Friday. The man shot the woman, who worked as a parking attendant, before killing himself in Lot A, according to Kansas City Police.
When officers got to the scene, they found the injured woman in the parking lot. They found the man dead in a nearby car.
Police say the woman is in critical condition. Both victims were in their 40s and appeared to know each other before the incident. Their exact relationship is unclear.
The Royals released the following statement Friday evening:
“The Kansas City Royals’ organization is deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in the parking lot outside of Kauffman Stadium earlier today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those impacted by this incident and with respect for those families, we will have no further comment on the matter.”
