KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two people were found shot to death in a car near Budd Park in Kansas City, Mo.
Police were called to the 100 block of Denver around 7:45 p.m. Monday after someone passing by the car saw a man slumped over the steering wheel, unresponsive.
When officers arrived, they found a second man in the back seat. The two men, who are believed to have been in their 20s, were pronounced dead on the scene.
Officer Darin Snapp with the Kansas City Police Department said the double homicide took place in a high-crime area.
"We get a lot of calls in this area, that's why the officers concentrate on this area," he said.
While no suspects have been identified yet, Snapp thinks the weather could help police.
"With a beautiful night, there were a lot of people out and about, and we're hoping there were several witnesses who observed the suspect leave," he explained.
