KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Investigators now say a call that came in as a possible attempted child abduction was later determined to be a man in a suspicious vehicle.

According to Kansas City Police spokeswoman Stacey Graves, officers were called to Center Middle School around 7:13 a.m.

Some female students say they were waiting for a bus near 94th and Holmes when a green pickup truck with damage pulled up.

The man inside, wearing black gloves, motioned for one of the girls to come over, but no words or physical contact were exchanged.

The girls got scared and ran away.

Graves said there was no attempted abduction.

Officers were canvassing the area looking for the suspicious vehicle.
