GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. - A Lee's Summit man died Tuesday when the stolen pickup truck he was driving crashed and burned.
Central Jackson County Fire Protection District firefighters found 34-year-old Nathan Brown outside the burning vehicle at a house at 7305 Arnette in Jackson County.
The truck was headed south on Arnette Road when it came over a hill and and Brown lost control of the truck, according to a Jackson County Sheriff's Department news release.
The truck ran off the road, burst through a fence and caught fire.
Brown died at the scene.
A spokesman for the sheriff's department said the truck was stolen about 8 p.m. Monday from the 200 block of Southwest 5th Street in Lee's Summit.
Investigators don't know if Brown stole the truck.
