KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man shot by police Sunday afternoon following an armed confrontation has died from his injuries.
Authorities were called to the 200 block of West 114th Terrace just after 2 p.m. on a report of gun shots fired.
When they arrived, they discovered a suicidal man firing shots in the home. Police say the man was walking in and out of the house and was clearly armed. He is described as a white male in his 50s.
Just after 3 p.m., the man walked outside and pointed a gun at officers who were staged outside of the residence, according to authorities.
Police then fired shots at the man. The man, who later died at a local hospital, was identified as Kansas City, Mo. resident Danny Walsh.
A woman was also in the home, according to authorities. She was unharmed. The relationship between the woman and suspect is unknown.
