KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 28-year-old man has been charged in the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl Thursday morning in Kansas City.
Alfonzo M. Morrison, of Kansas City, Mo., is charged with statutory rape, statutory sodomy and enticement of a child.
Kansas City police say the assault happened around 2 a.m. Thursday in a house in the 7400 block of Tracy Avenue.
According to Jackson County court documents outlining the charges, two people who were babysitting the victim woke up to her screams.
They both ran to a room in the home and found Morrison and the victim in the room, according to the charging documents. Both babysitters told police Morrison’s pants and underwear were pulled down.
Officers conducting a canvass of the area found Morrison about 25 minutes after they were called to the scene.
Police told 41 Action News on Friday Morrison was an acquaintance of the babysitters and had been in the home earlier in the evening.
Morrison denied doing anything wrong, according to the court documents. He was being held Friday on a $250,000 cash bond.
