LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Federal officials are now offering a $7,500 reward for information about a series of suspicious fires in Lawrence.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has increased the reward for information about nearly 20 fires in Lawrence that started in October.

The reward is for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for setting the fires. The previous reward had been for $2,500.

Most of the fires were set in laundry rooms or hallways near unlocked exterior doors at apartment complexes.
