BLUE SUMMIT, Mo. - According to Jackson County, Mo., Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Rhonda Montgomery, authorities received an anonymous call on Tuesday afternoon with a tip suggesting a dead body was inside a home near the intersection of 18th and Tilden Avenue.
When authorities were able to gain entry to the home in Blue Summit, Mo., they found an elderly man dead with obvious signs of trauma.
While Montgomery can’t say how the man died, deputies were served a search warrant to go back into the home to collect additional evidence.
Authorities have taken a person of interest into custody a few blocks from where the man was found and was questioned by authorities
Medical examiners are on-scene.
