KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Charges are expected to be announced Saturday night in connection with the murders of two Kansas City women, which police think are connected.
Kansas City police said they will hold a 6:30 p.m. news conference regarding the case.
Sgt. Doug Neimeier, a detective with the Kansas City Police Department, said the deaths of 40-year-old Tamara R. Sparks and 24-year-old Nicoleone M. Reed are related. A third living victim has been found, but investigators have not confirmed a link to the other two deaths.
Sparks’ body was found in October 2011 near North Eastern Avenue and Northeast 120th Street in Kansas City North.
Reed’s body was found in August 2012 in a remote area in southeastern Kearney.
Police said they have not determined an exact cause of death in either case, but are working both as homicides.
