KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Authorities are looking for the person who ran over a Kansas City Missouri Police Department officer’s foot when he or she fled from a traffic stop early Tuesday and then led police on a chase.
It started a little before 6:45 a.m. at Independence Avenue and Hardesty when a police officer pulled over a Ford Escort.
The driver took off, running over the officer’s foot.
Authorities chased the car into Kansas, lost track of it for a short time and then found the car abandoned near S. Valley Street and Ray Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.
The officer whose foot was run over in the traffic stop was not seriously hurt, authorities said.
