LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Kansas issued a campus alert Monday night after a female student reported being robbed on campus by a man armed with a handgun.
The woman told KU Police that she was swinging on a swing set around 8 p.m. Monday near Irving Hill Road by the Stouffer Place Apartments when she was approached by a man holding a silver handgun.
The man demanded the student’s property, and the woman gave the suspect her cell phone and an iPod.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 6’2”, 170 pounds wearing a black ski mask and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
