KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Saturday, police said they arrested and charged Independence, Mo., man Richard A. Ohearn with murdering his mother after fatally shooting her in her home on Friday night.
Ohearn's mother was found dead in her home at 12117 E. 46th Street from an apparent gun shot wound around 10:20 p.m. on Friday in Kansas City, Mo.
Richard was found at the scene, with a handgun and ammunition also found on the living room piano.
He is now being held on $500,000 bond.
When Richard was transported to police headquarters, authorities say he muttered, "I killed my mother, didn't I?"
