INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Independence.
The shooting occurred during a police chase with a truck that was stolen from an auto body shop in Carrolton, Mo.
Just after 4 p.m., police began pursuing the truck. Authorities said chase speeds reached 50 mph.
The chase ended at 24 Highway and Crysler Avenue. Police fired shots at one person during the arrest. That suspect was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second person was taken into custody.
Authorities found a loaded gun in the truck, which belonged to the owner of the auto body shop.
