KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Jurors deliberating the fate of the owner of a famed Kansas City steakhouse and two other men on Wednesday were denied a request for phone records used by the prosecution.

Hereford House owner Rodney Anderson is accused of hiring Vince Pisciotta and Mark Sorrentino to set the restaurant on fire in 2008 for insurance money.

The case went to the jury Tuesday after hours of closing arguments, and the jury sent a note around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday requesting phone records for one of the prosecution’s witnesses.

The judge responded to the note by identifying exhibit numbers, but declined to send highlighted copies of phone records that the prosecution used in a closing argument slideshow.

The trial began last week and has included testimony from more than three dozen witnesses.
