KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are interviewing several people taken into custody at a Kansas City home Tuesday night after a standoff connected to a deadly carjacking.
It all started just before 7:45 p.m. when officers were called to Holiday Liquors, 76th and Troost, on a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A short time later, police found the victim's car parked outside a home near 72nd and Lydia. As a precaution they surrounded the home and tried to make contact with the people inside.
"The car is parked right in front of it, and they think that somebody might be inside," Capt. Steve Young with the Kansas City Police Department explained.
Four or five people were arrested without incident just before 11 p.m., Young said. Their connection to the carjacking, if any, was not immediately clear.
