OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Lee's Summit soccer coach arrested for producing child pornography also ran a DJ and photography business that dealt primarily with children.
Joel D. White, 41, is accused in federal court documents of hiding a camera in a bedroom of his residence and videotaping young girls undressing.
White also ran Adida DJ Entertainment and Photography. According to the company's Facebook page, the business was used for numerous bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs in the Kansas City metro area.
Parents who hired White were shocked to hear that he was facing such serious charges. Many preferred not to share their names but said it concerns them that some accused of child photography was paid to take hundreds of pictures of kids.
Paige Gerson hired White for an event on April 13 and is afraid she may never see the pictures White took. She's not sure if she will get any of her money back.
White, who coaches a girls under-12 soccer team and a girls under-15 soccer team through the Lee's Summit Soccer Associaton, remains in federal custody pending a detention hearing.
White could face between 15 and 30 years in prison.
