BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - A Blue Springs man was charged with felony animal abuse for the torture and killing of a small cat.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker filed charges against Brandon Scott Krahenbuhl, 23. According to court records, Krahenbuhl told police he tortured and killed a cat in his Blue Springs apartment and recorded it on his cell phone.
The video showed a small grey and white cat hanging from a noose and being slammed into a wall until Krahenbuhl stepped on the animal, according to court records.
Krahenbuhl told officers he killed the animal so he wouldn’t hurt himself. A 3-month-old child was in the apartment when the cat was killed.
He is housed in Jackson County on a $50,000 bond.
