KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Police say a man in his 30’s was shot to death while riding his bike Sunday night.
Authorities on Monday identified the victim as 33-year-old Earl V. Ricks.
It happened at 34th Street and Bellefontaine just after 6 p.m. Sunday. Police roped off four to five blocks for several hours as detectives looked for something that might help them solve the city’s latest murder.
“They are just scouring the area for any shell casings or any kind of evidence that they can relate to what happened tonight," Kansas City Police Sgt. Stacey Graves. "Right now we are trying to figure out what occurred if he was shot by someone in the street or in a car, we don't know yet and that's why detectives are on the scene trying to figure that out.”
At this point police don’t have a suspect description to pass along. They are hoping someone saw something or heard something and they can figure out what led to the shooting.
If you know anything about the crime, call (816) 474-TIPS.
