KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Residents in a Midtown neighborhood are on alert after a man stole an assault rifle from a nearby pawn shop.
Surveillance video shows a man wearing jeans, a tan hoodie and a dark hat enter Smart Pawn at 63rd and Troost at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The man went back to a section of the store carrying weapons and rolled over a glass display case to grab the assault rifle from a back wall. He then tucked the gun underneath his shirt and walked out of the store.
Police said the man then got on a city bus heading northbound on Troost. He got off the bus around 52nd and Troost.
Although the searched the area, police were unable to locate the suspect or the weapon.
