KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A mother turned her son into police Monday night after recognizing him in surveillance video of an attempted robbery at a Kansas City Church’s Chicken , police said.
The unidentified juvenile was taken into custody at the Metro Patrol Station at about 8:20 p.m., according to a statement from the Kansas City Police Department.
Surveillance video shows three suspects enter the restaurant, located at 55th and Prospect, on Sunday night.
One of the suspects brandishes a .38 revolver, but the manager at the restaurant was able to grab it from him.
All three suspects ran away without further incident.
The restaurant is the same one that was robbed earlier this year by a man carrying a samurai sword .
