KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Kansas City, Kan., woman accused of trying to drown her two daughters pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Johnna Green faces two counts of attempted murder after police found the 1-year-old and 4-year-old sisters drenched and unconscious earlier this month. Prosecutors say Green tried to kill them by holding their heads underwater.

The girls, known only by their initials of JT and JG, were in critical condition after the incident. In court Tuesday, it was revealed both girls have recovered and left the hospital.
Green is being held on a $1 million bond.
"My client remains in jail. She will probably be in jail for quite some time,” defense attorney Paul Morrison said.
“That’s probably where she needs to be, for now,” Morrison continued. “The good news in this case is those girls are doing a lot better.”

There was a custody hearing for the girls earlier this month, but the court sealed the documents in that hearing.
