LENEXA, Kan. - Authorities have released more images of what they are calling a vehicle of interest in the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old boy in Lenexa.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon. According to police, the boy was riding his bike near 101st Street and Cherry Lane when a dirty white four-door vehicle drove by slowly, turned around came back toward him.

The vehicle approached and a man in the passenger seat pointed a handgun at him and told him to “get in the car,” the boy told police. He ran into a nearby liquor store, where an employee closed and locked the door and called 911.

The pictures show a vehicle that matches the description the boy gave to police. He said the vehicle was a dirty white four-door car.

The pictured vehicle is believed to be a white 2009-2011 Acura TL with custom wheels. It was captured by traffic cameras near the attempted abduction at about the time it occurred, according to police.

The boy described the suspect in the passenger seat as a white man with a dark complexion and a small amount of facial hair wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

If you know anything about what happened, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
