KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A traffic stop turned into a police-involved shooting Monday afternoon in Kansas City, Kan., and now the suspect is in critical condition.
Officer Patrick McCallop said the man was pulled over around 4:45 at 10th and Ivandale.
McCallop said as the two police officers left their vehicle, the suspect tried backing over them with his SUV. That's when they fired and hit the man.
He was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
The officers were unharmed and have been placed on routine administrative leave.
The suspect is described as a male around 30 years old. His identity has not been released.
