PARKVILLE, Missouri - UPDATE: Cops: Parkville murder was over a girl
PARKVILLE, Missouri - Police have made three arrests in the shooting death of a teenager that happened early Thursday near the Parkville Price Chopper.
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. near Mo. 45 and Mo. 9 highways.
Authorities say 17-year-old Spencer J. Crosthwait was stopped in his vehicle at the intersection in an eastbound lane of 45 when three men in another car drove up from the south and turned west onto 45.
A back-seat passenger pointed a gun out the window and fired a single shot into Crosthwait’s car, police said.
Police said the passenger took control of the Crosthwait’s car and was able to get it to the parking lot at the Price Chopper, 9107 NW Highway 45.
Crosthwait was pronounced dead when authorities arrived a few minutes later. The other teenager in the passenger seat was not injured.
Authorities say they have arrested all three suspects.
