KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are investigating a homicide in Kansas City, Mo.

A man in his 20s was shot and killed in his home around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 8900 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard.

The victim's roommate told police he was in a back room of the home when he heard gunfire coming from the living room. When he went to check it out, he found his roommate dead on the couch from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said the murder is likely a drug deal gone bad. The roommate told police the two men sought in the shooting were at the house to buy drugs. Investigators recovered what appeared to be marijuana near the front door.

A police spokesman said police have received complaints about the house in the past and were monitoring the home.

Officers are looking for the two men who fled the scene in a white vehicle.
