PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. - The principal of Platte County High School resigned Monday after being arrested in a prostitution sting.
Dr. Pat Martin, 37, was charged with patronizing prostitution on Sept. 26. According to Kansas City Police, he allegedly called the phone number of an ad officers had put online as part of the sting. The woman who answered told him to meet her at a motel in Kansas City, and to call when he got there.
When Martin got to the motel room, police said he offered to pay $150 for oral sex and sexual intercourse. He was arrested and charged that same day.
Martin resigned the following Monday. In a news release announcing his replacement, assistant principal Alan Bunch, school district officials said he stepped down for "unforeseen personal reasons."
Martin's next court date is Dec. 28 at 9 a.m.
