1 dies in double shooting at Independence park

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - One person was killed and another was injured after a shooting at an Independence park Monday afternoon.
Police were called out to 24th and Westport Road, near Rotary Park, just before 5 p.m., on reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they located two people suffering from gun shot wounds.
Both were transported to an area hospital. Adam B. Trent, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., later died from his injuries.
No suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline, 816-474-TIPS.
