KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City officials cleared a scene just before 9 a.m. Monday where a suspicious package was found in the road on Platte Purchase at 152 Highway.
According to police, the item was for geocaching, the outdoor activity where people use GPS to find an item.
Police said a MoDOT worker said he saw a person stop a vehicle and throw a package out on the northwest corner of the bridge on Platte Purchase.
The Kansas City bomb and arson squad was called to the scene.
Traffic on 152 Hwy was not impacted by the incident.
