KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A standoff between police and an armed man barricaded inside a Northland home ended peacefully Saturday night.
The man left the house about 10 p.m. and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said.
Police were first called to the home in the 5200 block of Northeast 45th Street about 4:30 p.m. on a report that a man there was threatening to harm himself. When arriving officers contacted him by telephone, he reportedly threatened to harm them. At that point, police called an "Operation 100" and threw up a cordon around the house.
Further negotiations resulted in the man's surrender.
