LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - The Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate who escaped from the Leavenworth County jail Saturday has been captured.
Authorities say 29-year-old Raheem K. Armstead bolted from an escorting officer while taking trash to the dumpster around 1 p.m. Saturday.
Details of his capture were not immeidatley available, but a statement from the sheriff’s office was expected soon.
Armstead was arrested and booked on June 26 of this year on various felony drug charges. He was being held pending additional drug-related charges and non-payment of child support, according to a news release from the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.
