KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Mo., are investigating a rape at a Northland apartment complex Sunday night.
Authorities tell 41 Action News the suspect approached the female victim from behind after she had entered her apartment in the 8000 block of North Hickory Street, blindfolded her and tied her hands behind her back.
Police believe the man entered the apartment around 7:20 p.m. when the victim went outside to get something from a vehicle.
The victim blacked out during the attack, woke up around 8 p.m. and drove to her roommate’s workplace. The two then drove to a police station to report the attack, police said.
The woman did not get a good look at the suspect.
Investigators do not believe the attack is related to another sexual assault at a Northland apartment complex. A 26-year-old woman was attacked by a man wearing a ski mask in the 6600 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue.
If you know anything about what happened in either case, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
