KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are investigating an apparent homicide near a Kansas City, Mo., gas station.
Officers were called at about 6:40 a.m. to the BP gas station on Independence Avenue just east of Van Brunt.
Authorities on scene said the victim was found on a couch under a tree in what is believed to be a homeless camp behind the gas station.
Police initially said the man had stab wounds, but investigators later indicated the cause of death was unclear, but foul play is suspected.
Investigators said the victim was a Native American man in his 50s.
No suspect information was immediately available.
