KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Authorities said Monday they have identified the suspect seen in surveillance video punching a KCATA driver in the face.
The assault happened Oct. 26 at about 5 p.m. at 39th and Main streets. The driver was not seriously hurt.
In an email to media, Kansas City Police spokeswoman Marisa Barnes said the detective in the case combined tips from the public and information gathered by officers to identify the man responsible for the attack.
Barnes’ email did not say whether the suspect was in custody, but she said charges were expected later in the week.
On Oct. 1, another KCATA bus driver was punched in the head . The driver in that assault was knocked unconscious.
His injuries were a little more severe than the most-recent attack, but he later returned to work . An 18-year-old Kansas City man has since been charged in that attack .
