CLINTON, Mo. - A Missouri National Guardsman was stabbed in the buttocks Wednesday morning during some sort of practical joke, authorities said.
According to the Clinton Police Department, officers were called to the National Guard Armory in Artesian Park around 10 a.m. in regards to a stabbing.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for surgery to repair the wound.
According to police news release, their investigation revealed the victim “was involved in some practical joking with another soldier’s gear and as the victim bent over to pick up the gear, the soldier who owned the gear jabbed him in the buttocks with a knife.”
A 23-year-old soldier from Clinton was arrested and was being held on charges of second-degree assault.
Police said the victim was pursuing charges.
Both soldiers are members of the 1-135th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion. They were assigned to the Clinton Armory and were preparing for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
