KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City man was arrested Thursday after he assaulted two police officers while running naked through a Brookside neighborhood, according to police.
Phillip Alongi of Kansas City, Mo., faces charges for property damage and assault.
Police were called to a home near East 60th Street and Kenwood Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, after an attempted break-in.
Officers said they saw Alongi running around in the street with no clothes on. According to police reports, Alongi appeared to be under the influence of drugs and refused their orders to stop.
Police followed him into a backyard on Kenwood where he smashed his head into a glass door.
According to police reports, Alongi fought with the officers and tried to tackle them while they were trying to arrest him.
The officers used a Taser gun, but it had no effect.
After the arrival of more officers, police were able to arrest Alongi.
Police said Alongi was taken to a hospital to be checked out before going to jail.
One officer received minor injuries during the incident.
