BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Police feared the worst Tuesday afternoon after they found an ice cream truck driver bleeding from gunshot wounds.

The robbers shot 47-year-old Patrick Schramke  about 4:20 p.m. near Southwest 29th and Jackson streets after he tried to fight off their attack.

But the wounds came from either a pellet or bb gun, and Schramke was home Tuesday night recovering from his wounds.

Schramke and witnesses told police some of the robbers ran from the scene and others got into a maroon car and drove away, according to a police news release.

Police found two suspects several blocks from the crime scene.

A third person came to Blue Springs Police headquarters about 6 p.m. to surrender.

No word on when charges may be filed in the case.
