The woman told police Laurence Saunders, 62, walked into her home in the 3200 block of Oakland on Sept. 6, saying he had entered through the unlocked back door.

On Sept. 7, just after midnight, the woman tells police she woke up to find Sanders, who lives nearby, standing over her bed naked.

When she woke up, Saunders grabbed her arm and told her he was just “being friendly,” according to court documents.

The victim grabbed Saunders by his beard and dragged him to her front door. While trying to usher him out, he grabbed her throat, the court documents allege.

The victim then grabbed a tape measurer and struck Saunders on the head three times, at which point he walked out the door.

The woman found his black shorts on her DVD player, so she grabbed them and threw them at Saunders, who was sitting on the front deck crying.

Billie Warfield says she's know Saunders for 15 years.  She lives across the street from him.  Warfield says she's not surprised by the accusations.

"I've had to keep my doors locked cause he'd walk right in. I told him you don't walk into peoples houses like that Larry, you're going to end up getting hurt. He said but you're my neighbor, you're my friend. I said I don't care. You just don't walk into somebody's house," says Warfield

The victim called police, who arrested Saunders about an hour after the incident. He was taken in for questioning and admitted entering the victim’s home uninvited and taking off his clothes, but denied grabbing her.

Saunders has a 1988 conviction in California for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.  When he moved to MIssouri he registered as a sex offender.

He was charged Wednesday with one count each of first-degree burglary, third-degree assault and sexual misconduct.
