LENEXA, Kan. - Lenexa police are looking for a man who exposed himself to two female middle school students on their walk to class Monday morning.
Authorities said the girls were walking from the Meadows Apartments to Trailridge Middle School, 7500 Quivira Rd., when they noticed the man standing behind a building south of the school.
Police said the man waved at the girls, and then exposed himself to them. The girls ran to school and reported the incident to school officials.
He is described as a white male in his mid-30s with blond hair. He is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was also wearing a dark hoodie.
Authorities also said the girls reported seeing a white panel van parked near the man.
A similar incident occurred in February 2013 in the same apartment complex. In that case, the man was also wearing a dark hoodie.
Police have not said if the two cases are related.
Nick Boyle, a parent in Shawnee, has three children, ages 3 to 8. He said he'll be keeping a close watch on his kids until the man is apprehended.
"I hope the guy gets caught, whoever it was, because I know I sure don't want my kids out around with anything like that happening," he said. "I'm definitely going to be keeping a closer eye out on my kids."
Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline, 816-474-TIPS.
